I jus completed reading this Booker's prize award winning book..
A book which describes the story of a rickshawpuller son who works in a tea shop after being dropped out of skool. The hero of the story called "munna" initially wen he is thr in his village in laxmanbargh. then he becomes "Balram" wen he works for a US based guy investing in crazy Indian politics (bribes them actually). Then finally he becomes "Ashok Verma",the entrepreneur who owns a cab service for call centers in India's silicon valley BANGALORE.
The innocent ,brainy Munna who is the 1ly student in his village skool to read English transforms into a faithful, loyal driver at his landlords' brother who has returned from US.The book walks through all the ugly facets of Indian society throwing clear picture of how Indian drivers spend their life in cities. The so called faithful driver then murders his master to steal his money n lead a happy life. Then he runs away 2 Bangalore to become an entrepreneur by bribing the local police to get his business running.
I could very well say that the story is advanced version of the movie "Slumdog Millionaire".
How many movies r stories will be written in future abt the real India???Is these stories r really worth changing India????
The sad part is that we get acclaimed by the world wit all awards 4 the movies n books which actually show the worst side of our country.
But the BIG question is
is thr any1 who realises(particlularly the Nethaas(so called leaders who r supposed to be guiding the rest of the nation) of our country) that its nt these awards which wil make India proud but the change these authors n directores n most of us want 2 c ..
